How To Clean Your Makeup Products, Accessories

Having makeup products and accessories is easy but cleaning them is a bit difficult for most people. So, let’s look at how to sanitize our products and accessories. Here are few pointers on how to keep makeup products clean.

Pencils

Makeup pencils can be lip liners, brow pencils or eye pencils. Sanitizing the pencils is quick and easy. Sanitize them by sharpening before use. You don’t have to sharpen many layers. If your makeup pencils are the retractable types, you can spray rubbing alcohol to the tip of the pencil and let it dry naturally.

Bronzers, eye shadow, blush and powder

Make your products such as eye shadow, blush and bronzer easy to sanitize, use a blunt object to gently scrape the top layer of the product. Do not press it down firmly as it might result in breaking your product. Use clean brushes and sponges to take out the product for application to avoid bacterial breeding or you can spray rubbing alcohol over your blush or bronzer and let it dry naturally.

Make up bags and cases

These can get dirty very quickly. It’s best to remove all your products and clean your bag with good antibacterial wipes to get rid of all the make-up residue.

Liquid foundation

If you have a foundation bottle with a pump dispenser, you only need to clean the pump with an antibacterial solution to remove the germs. To sanitize a foundation with jar type packaging, simply take a cotton swab and remove the top layer of the container. It is best to use cotton swabs to take out the product rather than fingers as it will prevent bacterial accumulation.

Lipstick

This is important. Take a clean cotton swab then slightly twist up your lipstick and scrape the topmost layer of the lipstick off. Take rubbing alcohol in a small spray bottle and start spraying it to your lipsticks. Hold a lipstick at least 3 to 4 inches away from bottle and spray it gently all over the lipstick bullet allow it to dry naturally and you will have a super clean lipsticks.

Brushes

This can be sanitized by using the readily available brush cleanser in make-up stores. You can substitute by mixing olive oil with some detergent solution. It is recommended to clean your brushes at least once in a week if you apply make-up frequently.

Sanitizing make-up accessories is an important part of the skin care regime, it is highly recommended to follow these tips frequently to stay safe and beautiful.
